Position: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Location: Columbus, OH
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000

The Superior Group is looking for a Staff Accountant. This hybrid-flexible role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, and will be a member of Superior's Finance team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly close process 
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Document accounting processes
  • Assist with developing and enhancing accounting processes
  • Assist with financial audit requests
  • Handle special projects and reports as needed

Your Character Traits

  • You’re able to demonstrate a basic understanding of accounting principles
  • You’re able to demonstrate a knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
  • You’re able to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • You’re able to demonstrate intermediate skills and knowledge of Excel
  • You have a strong attention to detail 
  • You’re able to demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills

Your Experience

  • You have 1-3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
  • You earned your bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 
  • Bonus points if you have coding skills to automate routine tasks such as data entry, report generation, and transaction matching
  • Bonus points if you are familiar with finance in the construction industry
