Position: Construction Safety Coordinator
Reports to: Safety Manager
Location: Columbus, OH
Salary Range: $27 - $40 per hour

The Superior Group is looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator to ensure that every team member on our job sites is safe and secure. This position will maintain safe conditions for people and property, assist with investigating accidents, and emergency response. This role is based on a jobsite in Columbus, Ohio

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the General Contractor and other trade partners
  • Assist with the collection of safety records following trainings sessions 
  • Document all injuries, incidents, and near misses
  • Signing daily paperwork to verify proper hazard and mitigation assessment
  • Monitor large construction sites and enforce compliance with government rules & regulations.
  • Complete audits and daily reports describing activities completed, and issues, etc.
  • Stay up-to-date with safety policies and trends, i.e. meeting the latest safety standards and establishing new ones from time-to-time as newer risks are discovered.
  • Attend all safety meetings on the job sites

  • You’re able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information

Your Expertise

  • You have 3+ years of direct experience as a safety professional in the following industries: construction management, risk management, or Environmental Health and Safety 
  • You have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or completion of an apprenticeship program
  • You have a safety credential through the Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP), i.e. CHST or working towards accomplishing certification
  • You are certified in First Aid/CPR 
  • You’ve completed the OSHA 510 
  • You’ve completed an OSHA 30-hour course
  • Bonus points if you have experience within the electrical construction industry
