Position: Senior Estimator
Reports to: Director of Estimating
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000

We take into consideration a number of factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates, such as market location, experience, skills, and education.

The Superior Group is seeking a Senior Estimator who will be responsible for interpreting drawings, reading specifications and do takeoff on certain items. The ideal candidate must have the willingness to learn new technology and estimating software, have strong technical and communication skills, and work well in a team environment. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and understanding of contract drawings and project specifications
  • Perform takeoff of electric items, consisting of light fixtures, branch power devices and fire alarm device
  • Work with vendors and QA estimates
  • Lead projects and coordinate and support with internal teams to ensure alignment of scope
  • Conducts site visits to understand practical field installation requirements
  • Works closely with project management team on change order pricing

  • You have a an analytical mindset and understand how to problem solve
  • You have the ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and the willingness to learn new processes 
  • You’re able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information 
  • You can lead others and assist them on what needs to be done
  • Able to train others in the correct process of estimating

Your Expertise

  • You have 7+ years of experience in the construction estimating
  • Bonus Points: If you have earned an associates or bachelors degree in construction management or a related field 
  • Bonus Points: If you have experience in electrical construction
  • Bonus Point: If you have experience  using Accubid and/or Bluebeam
