Position: Traveling - Construction Project Manager (South Bend, Indiana, and Midwest)
Reports to: Senior Project Manager
Primary Location: South Bend, Indiana
Project Assignment: Midwest Region
Pay Range: $165,000 – $230,000* 

*Estimated total pay range includes base salary, vehicle allowance, project-based per diem, and eligibility for an annual incentive. Actual total compensation will vary depending on project location and travel requirements.

Superior and our tri-venture, CST, is looking for a Traveling Project Manager to help drive our electrical construction projects forward across the Midwest. The Project Manager is responsible for managing construction projects, scheduling resources, ensuring that budgets and timelines are met, and working closely with the Superintendent and Foremen to ensure the successful progress and completion of the project. 

Important note for applicants: 

This role will begin on a jobsite in South Bend, Indiana, with the opportunity to support future projects in other markets as business needs evolve. 

This role requires flexibility and willingness to travel and temporarily reside near project sites for extended project assignments. Potential jobsite locations may include Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, and/or Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mitigate and manage project risk, and elevate concerns – and solutions – quickly to Project Operations and Field Operations leadership
  • Create and manage the full project schedule from project kickoff to project closeout
  • Manage all project finance requirements, including billings, project setup, project buy-out, project cost control, change order management, and cost to complete
  • Earn the trust of clients by cultivating relationships, communicating swiftly, collaborating, and solving challenges
  • Chair project meetings including planning, progress updates, and reviews with customers
  • Work with departments across the organization to ensure that project materials are available and in place as needed
  • Serve as a key leader to our project team, and provide clear communication and guidance to all team members
  • Understand the full scope of the project contract and negotiate changes as needed
  • Review all project documents including estimates, design drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Maintain a high degree of safety on our work across the jobsite
  • Ensure the timely completion of all job closeout procedures

Your Expertise

  • Required: You have at least 4 years of experience in commercial construction project management or equivalent electrical construction experience 
  • Bonus Points: You earned your Construction Management degree, Engineering degree, Construction Management Program certificate, or another related degree
  • Bonus Points: You’re experienced with design-build, hard bid, and negotiated projects around $5M to $50M
  • Bonus Points: You have extensive knowledge in construction management software
  • Bonus Points: You hold an active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
